Careers FAQ
This page is for new applicants moving through the public Blacksyte hiring funnel.
This is the applicant-safe version of how the studio runs production work so you understand the model before joining.
Applicant screening is not paid production work. It helps the hiring team judge fit, direction handling, reliability, and whether the studio model is right for both sides.
The studio runs as a project-based production network, not a clock-in marketplace. Approved production work turns into tracked contribution value, and project payout happens later through the residual system.
Blacksyte work is valued before it starts. The platform records scope, expected effort, pay band, and difficulty signals up front so contributors are not negotiating value after delivery.
Some tasks are relaxed, some are time-sensitive, and some are production-critical. The workspace factors that pressure into future momentum without letting contributors set their own urgency.
Residual pools are split by approved contribution share. The platform compares approved contribution value across the project and uses that share when a payout pool is ready.
The best way to succeed here is not trying to game the system. The studio cares about direction handling, finish quality, consistency, and whether you can deliver reliable work inside a brief.
These are maintained from the hiring side so the public intake page stays current.
No. Fresh candidates can apply with any email they actively use. If you are later hired into the internal workspace, that same identity can carry forward.
You enter Stage 1 first: applicant packet, resume, portfolio, and the role application review. If that pass is strong, the hiring team moves you into Stage 2 for the first interview and direction. Stage 3 is a second interview to review the interview review and decide whether onboarding can begin.
Yes. Full roles route into a light waitlist instead of a dead application. When that role opens again, your shared applicant login will show the next step in the portal.
The portal uses Google Drive links for application reviews, correction tasks, and signed paperwork, so you stay in one workflow without needing file uploads on-site.
No. We care more about fit, skill ceiling, and how you respond to direction than a perfect resume.
You create your applicant account, land in the applicant portal, and receive the Stage 1 application review for the role you chose.
The hiring team assigns interview times in the portal. The call itself may happen on Discord, but the timing record stays on the site.
Full roles use a waitlist instead of accepting dead-end applications. Once intake opens again, your next step appears in the portal.
Yes. Once a hiring cycle is closed as rejected, withdrawn, or archived, you can come back through the same applicant account and start a new role lane.
Discord access appears for applicants who reach the interview stage. Paperwork appears later when the hiring team assigns it inside the portal.
No. For launch, the platform uses Google Drive links for resumes, portfolios, task submissions, and signed paperwork.
